About This Episode:

When it comes to money children are very literal. So if we say something like; “We can’t do that because we don’t have enough money” they think, oh my goodness we don’t have enough money. This line of thinking starts them on a money path of scarcity. A belief that there is never enough to go around. It is a belief that carries on into adulthood and quickly becomes a story that we have to try and correct later on down the road.

Money can be challenging and triggering for many of us and the beliefs we carry throughout life about financial literacy start in our childhood years. Which is why how we talk about money is really important, because it is these words, statements and beliefs that we’re constantly teaching our children with all the time.

If you are looking for some direction, insight and help into how to approach money when it comes to family finances and teaching our kids about it, then join me today for a discussion on financial literacy.
